Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure setting temperature rise on the thermometer after investments were mixed with water.
The asbestos lined casting ring (1 ¨ù¡± x 1 ¨ö¡±) was filled with the mixed investment. The bulb of thermometer is located at the center of casting ring, the thermometer is fixed by clamp of apparatus.
The authors read thermometer in one minute interval, initial and final setting time were
measured with Gilmore needle. From the experiment, following results were obtained.
1. Temperature rise was very lower before initial setting time.
2. Temperature rise continued after final setting time.
3. In comparison with initial and maximal temperature rise, difference was less than 6¡ÆC.
